About

Hello, my name is Deana.  I am a housewife and homeschool a mom.  We have 4
children ages 25, 22, 17 and 5(yes I said 6).  I love gardening, canning, quilting
and cooking.
My philosophy is why buy it when you can make it better yourself.
Back when I went to school we had this class called Home Ec.
some of you might have heard of it.  In it we all learned how to sew and cook and
manage a household.  These things are frowned upon these days and that makes
me sad. So I decided to write a blog about all things Home Ec related I hope you
will learn lots of new things that will bring you joy.

  5. I love your philosophy. So many things are lost these day in preference to technology.
I'm loving all your bread recipes, I'm in heaven and I haven't even looked at the chocolate yet.
Thanks for sharing with the rest of us.

  6. Hello,
I love your blog. I have a question about printing your recipes. I am having trouble, I would like to be able to print the recipe with the picture for reference. Do you have any suggestions other than copying it and pasting it to a word document?
    Thanks ,
    Jenny

  7. Hey Jenny, I had to separate my recipes from their photos because it caused the layout to be out of wack......Sorry... i've tried a few different printer buttons with the same problem.......So cut and paste may be your best option if you want the photo with the recipe...But I'll keep looking for a way to fix this problem. Thanks again for stopping by.

  9. I am so glad I found your site through one of the link parties. I too had Home Economics. I studied it in a little school in Glen, MS. I now live in SC and still love all things that are southern traditions that my grandmother taught me. I am looking forward to following your projects and recipes.

  10. Yes, I do remember Home Ec. I was actually a Sterling Scholar in Home Ec! I'm married with 6 married children and 14 grandchildren. I've been a stay at home Mom and loved every minute of it. I love to cook, sew, craft and build relationships with my children, grandchildren and my sweet hubby of 36 years. I'm excited to follow your blog.
