The Best Chocolate Cake
Pin It

| This is "The Best Chocolate Cake" I have ever made. This from scratch recipe reminds me of the one my Grandma P used to make. No fancy expensive chocolate here just good ol' unsweetened cocoa powder. In keeping with my recent soda recipe obsession, this cake has no eggs, just soda and vinegar for leavening. and no butter....I know...hard to believe one of my recipes has no butter. This cake is so moist and it has a rich dark chocolate flavor. The icing is also made with cocoa powder and its unbelievable! Hope you all enjoy it as much as we did:) Click text for recipe "The Best Chocolate Cake" Recipe |

Guinness Stew

| This recipe for "Guinness Stew" will have your Klan singing your praises. Served over a bed of mashed potatoes this thick and rich stew has all the flavors of the Guinness brew but the 6 hour cooking time ensures that most of the fight(alcohol) is cooked away. This recipe goes hand n' hand with my "Irish Brown Bread" |

| This hardy rustic "Irish Brown Bread" is perfect for sopping up stews. Crusty on the outside and remarkably light in the middle. Unlike some of the recipes I tested that were so heavy they could have been used as weapons. Thoughts of some guy in a kilt loading one up in a catapult and hurling it over the castle walls came to mind. So I added a little extra rising power to this recipe and a bit of brown sugar gives it a slightly sweet taste. The use of bread flour with the whole wheat flour lightens it up as well. Link & Greet Party #7
Wow this has been an enlightening week for me blog wise. I learned
how to backup my blog over at TidyMom. Which was so quick and easy.
There has been a serge in stories about deleted blogs so this is a very
important tip.
I also learned a new word over at GingerSnapCrafts Hot Linking. This is
also a very important story you would not want to cause anyone else harm so
stop by and learn how to properly use others photos.
And the third tip comes from me its about time. I spend a lot of time on my
blog. I have to make efficient use of my blog time because I also have a life
and responsibilities like laundry, dishes, homeschooling, bill paying,
cooking, sweeping, mopping, gardening, shopping...etc..
I'm sure you will all agree we spend a lot of time decoding words every day.
And the now they are even harder to decode.
And the now they are even harder to decode.
So my tip is this:
On your dashboard go to settings>comments>show word ver.>
and click NO > save settings......
If you are concerned about spam then choose
YES for comment moderation....
I personally like the moderation feature it forces me to keep up with my
comments and read them.... other wise I would probably miss some of them.
So be a Pal and turn it off and add a few minutes to my busy day:)
Please Comment
What would you do with the time you spent decoding?
Me....read a book to my 5 year old:)
And now on with the party and the Top 5 from last week....

Irish Soda Bread

| With St. Patricks day right around the corner I thought I'd dedicate this week to all things Irish. Today is all about the bread, that good ol' soda bread. If your not familiar with it, it is made without yeast so it's considered a quick bread. It gets its rise from the reaction between the soda and the buttermilk(vinegar). This recipe is every bit as sturdy as a yeast bread, meaning you can use it for toast and even sandwiches. So give this recipe a try and look for my Irish Brown Bread recipe coming later this week.
