Easter Sunday Treat
Pink Stuff always signified a holiday or special occasion at my Grandma's house. She always served it in her favorite Milk Glass Fruit Bowl. My grandma was the mother of 9 and times were usually hard, that milk glass bowl was as fine as china to her. It was always the last thing to be brought out of the kitchen and was the signal to gather around the table and give thanks to God.
This Easter I'll be serving my Grandma's Pink Stuff to my family and sharing stories about her with my children, some of who never got to know her. Isn't it funny how a dish can bring back such wonderful memories......

Mmm this looks and sounds so yummy and I love the pink bowl, it's so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThis recipe makes me smile. When my boys were growing up they always called instant pudding pink stuff. It didn't matter what flavour it was either, even the chocolate or butterscotch ones that obviously were not pink got called pink stuff.
ReplyDeleteMy mother in law makes something very similiar and the kids call it "The Green Stuff" because hers is green. I think she puts lime jello in hers.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful dish! And the pink looks so pretty in it. Congrats on the find.

My mom has the same bowl from her mom! We always have our "pink stuff" (AKA cranberry salad) in it at Thanksgiving. I'm not the biggest fan of it, but I have to eat some every year just for nostalgia purposes. Thanks for linking up to the Creative Genius Link Party!

We have several versions of this in our family. My niece makes it and calls it "Fluff" which she always serves refrigerated, never frozen. I have my own version that I serve frozen. I think the original name was "Frozen Fruit Salad" but I just call it delicious!
