| With St. Patricks day right around the corner I thought I'd dedicate this week to all things Irish. Today is all about the bread, that good ol' soda bread. If your not familiar with it, it is made without yeast so it's considered a quick bread. It gets its rise from the reaction between the soda and the buttermilk(vinegar). This recipe is every bit as sturdy as a yeast bread, meaning you can use it for toast and even sandwiches. So give this recipe a try and look for my Irish Brown Bread recipe coming later this week. ReplyDeleteThat bread looks fabulous Deana. Thanks for the recipe and for the buttermilk substitute, just in case. I have got to get myself a 9x5 bread pan next... Have a great week and thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThat looks really good (and easy!). I'm pinning that recipe and I would make it tomorrow when friends come for tea -- but it seems like everyone around here (but me) is on that paleo diet where no-one eats bread (even though all my baking is with whole wheat and I grind my own) -- oh well, more for me.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds really yummy!! I am just going to have to try this since St. Patrick's is coming up ! Thanks for sharing this as well at Thursday's Temptation.
