Kumquat marmalade

Heavenly Marmalade
Today was a lovely day for
canning....These little gems came off

a tree we planted last summer...

If you have never canned
before Jellies and Jams
are a great place to start, no
pressure cooker required and
its so much healthier than store bought
with all its preservatives, GMO's and
corn syrup not to mention the pesticides
used on the fruit.....and Its cheaper:)

begins:)

Leftover Ham Recipes

Recipe #1
Southern Quiche
Now that the Holidays are over
and your culinary creativity is
spent....Try this easy leftover ham recipe
that will quickly become a family Favorite.

Recipe #2
Cheesy Ham and Potatoes
This is a quick and easy dish
that kids love....Now my leftover ham
is all gone.....But don't throw away
that ham bone just yet....tomorrow we'll
make New Years Black-Eyed Peas
with it.

Recipe #3
New Years Black-Eyed Peas

Black eyed peas have been thought
to bring good
luck for thousands of years...
In the south they are especially
held dear....During the Civil War the north
would take or destroy all stored foods
except field corn and black-eyed peas
which they thought were only fit for animals

to eat.....Black-eyed peas and Corn bread
are still southern staples today..
and thats pretty lucky

Happy New Years..Ya'll

decorating with my kids...

This sugar cookie dough is easy to

Ginger Cookies

Fill your home with the smell of fresh Ginger Cookies
this Christmas.......they're soft, chewy and sooo good
.....these barely survived the photo shot...

Straight from the Country Momma test kitchen...

I really dislike ginger snaps in the bag at the supermarket
they're so hard you could break a tooth...
maybe thats how they got their name....
But I love the ginger taste...so I came up with a recipe
for what I think is the prefect Ginger Cookie...
