A Quilted Christmas

I just love placemats....and pot holders....I've made
quilts and they just set in a box because I don't want my
heathens to ruin them.....And there aren't enough walls in my home for all the wall hangings i've made...but placemats are
quick, decorative and easy to repair.
And lets be realistic it's a project that stands a chance of getting finished.

I got the inspiration for these projects from a
Fons and Porter book called Our Best Seasonal Quilts
The design was used in a large quilt......I loved it but I didn't need a Christmas bedspread......I did need a tree skirt...
.......I also made throw pillows...
And I didn't use any real Christmas material here...the main fabric came from Hobby Lobby....

Our Best Seasonal Quilts

To make the tree skirt I followed the directions in the book
for the quilt block x 4
but I turned the trees to the side...and left an opening..
I cut out a circle using a sour cream lid...then I added a boarder and binding......

  1. I love those trees! I have a ton of patterns that I'll never make because I look at them and think there is no way I'll ever finish, making place mats is a great idea! New Follower from Sunday Scoop
