
Ingredients:
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 very ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 c. of nuts (optional)
1. Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees.
2. Grease and flour a 9x5" loaf pan.
3. Cream together butter, sugars, vanilla and eggs.
4. Combine the flour, soda and salt and add to the butter mixture.
5. Last add the mashed bananas and nuts.
6. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the middle.
7. Let cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes before removing from the pan. Then let cool for 30 minutes before slicing.
Makes 1 loaf.

My grocery store bags up the older bananas and sells a bag for 99 cents. I have a bag full on my kitchen counter. Think I need to try out your recipe.

ReplyDeleteI have used many different recipes, of which had additional ingredients, but I believe this has been the very best and easiest one to put together. Such a good moist bread!!!
